Sunoco 94EZ is an ethanol-free 94 octane fuel. It’s made from the same high purity components used to make our higher octane race fuels so you can be sure to count on Sunoco 94EZ to burn clean and last a long time.
Sunoco 94EZ is a great choice in applications where ethanol can be problematic such as marine applications and engines that are not operated on a regular basis, especially lawn and garden equipment. Sunoco 94EZ features a comprehensive additive package to enhance shelf life by improving storage stability and minimizing oxidation. As with any gasoline, 94EZ should be stored in opaque, tightly sealed containers and kept where temperatures are stable.

In general, when an engine is specified for 87–89 octane, using a higher‑octane gasoline does not negatively affect the engine; it simply provides greater knock resistance, let me explain:
Higher octane fuel (e.g., 93 vs. 87) primarily increases resistance to engine knock (pre-ignition) rather than lowering overall operating temperatures. Higher octane fuel does burn slightly slower and potentially cooler. However, for high-performance, forced-induction, or high-compression engines, higher octane prevents detonation-related overheating.
